My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman TV Show Review: Much Needed Wholesome Content

I have nothing but love for this show! My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman is a Netflix TV show where David Letterman interviews a celebrity in front of a live audience. It’s kind of like what late night talk show hosts do, but this show is more intimate and personable! Letterman, with his years of television experience, has truly mastered the art of interviewing. He knows how to allow his guest to shine, to ask questions that dig into interesting topics, and sprinkle in humor at the right moments. I honestly love this show because, as the title suggests, all of the guests are really awesome and interesting people (Obama, Malala, Tina Fey, to name a few). The conversations are great and I am thoroughly entertained every time I put it on. I also recommend multi-tasking with this show on in the background, because it can also serve double-duty as a podcast.

I didn’t really know about David Letterman’s legacy (longest serving talk show host in America!) before watching this show, because I think his stint on late night TV was a bit before my time. But it became very obvious to me that Letterman is truly an American entertainment legend. He is so effortlessly funny and also generous with the way he interacts with his guests. Season 1 was filled with absolutely amazing episodes, and starting out with Obama was the absolute right move. That episode had me in tears at the end, and I was hooked. Another highlight of season one for me was the interview with Howard Stern. Don’t judge me, but I had absolutely no idea who Stern was before this interview! Out of the entire season, his episode had me laughing the hardest and I just loved his dynamic with Letterman. Now Howard Stern is a name that I will never forget. So in a way, this show is educational because it helps introduce viewers to people and topics that have made a difference in the world.

In conclusion…

I think that this show is an absolute gem on Netflix - it’s calming, educational, funny, and an overall good time. If you need something to help you unwind at the end of a long day, hearing David Letterman chatting and cracking jokes with his guests can be something to look forward to. Highly recommend!
